Change the campus, Change the world!

Hey guys!  Sorry we haven’t been updating this site regularly but GREAT THINGS have been going on here in Cebu.  Lots of favor and blessings from God have opened doors for us to minister to the youth and college students @ Cebu Normal University and University of Philippines-Cebu.  We’ve been going on campuses everyday to connect with the students and to build relationships.

The first couple days we got to meet presidents, dean’s, and top administrative personnel and got major blessings from them.  Being able to go into classrooms to talk to students and to invite them to our Campus Night.  We have been approaching them by saying we are LifeBox coaches from Hawaii.  Just a quick tidbit, instead of being called Every Nation Campus Ministries, they have rebranded their identity to Life Box.  It is a way for students to understand more of what the purpose and vision is for the students.  LIFE stands for: Leadership, Integrity, Faith, Excellence.  So as we spoke to students, we explained that we were LifeBox coaches wanting to share cultures with the Filipino people in Cebu.  And the transition from ENCM to LifeBox has been GREAT!  Students are now understanding that it is not a religious organization, but a safe place for students to prepare themselves for LIFE.

So continually keep the students of Cebu Normal University (CNU) and University of Philippines-Cebu (UP) in your prayers.  We know and believe that the connections we’ve made will last forever and that they will start a relationship with God.

Vlog 1: ARRIVED IN CEBU, FINALLY!

Hey guys,

Just a quick vlog from the Philippines.  It was a long journey but we finally made it and are resting up as we speak.

Tomorrow marks the first day of being on the ground running.  We have orientation @ the church center with the pastors & leaders of the church.  After we’ll be embarking to the campuses for prayer walks.

Continually keep us in your prayers that our health will be GREAT!  We love you and miss you much.

HERE WE GO!!!

The day has finally come.  JULY 5, 2010 has been a date that we as a team have been looking forward to.  All of of training has led up to this “point of no return”  With final preparations set, luggages and bags are all packed; I think!, all we can do now is to stay focused in God, keeping our attentiveness on high alert.  The practices for the skit and hula have been very productive and the team has embraced the special performances, hoping it will touch as many lives as possible.

We can’t thank enough those that have contributed financially EVEN TO THE LAST MINUTE!  God is great, His word is true and He continues to have his favor upon our lives.

So the next time you’ll be hearing from us, we’ll be on the ground running w/ a MISSION to see individuals radically changed for God’s glory!

COUNTING DOWN! (4 days and counting..)

IT’S HERE!

Yes, the final week of preparation is full in effect for Team Cebu.  We are currently in crunch time as D-Day (departure-date) is approaching quick.  All of the training is taking effect, putting on finishing touches of our special skit and hula dance.

WE ASK THAT YOU KEEP US IN PRAYER IN THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS AS WE UNITE AS A TEAM TO FAST AND ALLOW GOD TO WORK IN US!

Some prayer points:

• God’s traveling mercy on planes, car rides, and etc;
• God’s will over the lives of the people in Cebu, Philippines
• God’s favor in the education departments, government, communities;
• Raising up of leaders in the church and growth of disciples;
• Unity between Team Cebu and pastoral staff/leadership @ Victory Cebu;
• God’s protection over any type of sickness/ailments between now and the end of our trip;

THAT’S A WRAP!

A big mahalo & salamat goes out to all those that supported our car wash yesterday.  Whether you bought a pre-sale ticket, drove in, or even the handful of youth that helped wash, soap, rinse and etc..WE CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!  It was a huge success and we hope that you enjoyed the Chili & Rice that was made by our very own Noel Nakamura, Arnel Data, & Chad Udani.

We definitely had a lot of fun getting wet, cooling off, and most importantly, serving you all by washing you cars.  But we hope you don’t look at the car wash as a means to just raise funds (as for the other fundraisers we had), but for those that supported us, to see that all of the hard work goes into impacting the lives of people in Cebu.

A BIG MAHALO GOES OUT TO THE “CUTTER DODGE PEARL CITY” TEAM FOR ALLOWING US TO USE THEIR FACILITIES (AND WATER).  Without their support and willingness to let us use their area, this would have never happened in the first place. SALAMAT PO!!!

Like we stated before, we were so worried about getting enough stuff to sell @ the sale but once we sorted everything Friday night, we had MORE than enough to sell.  The extra clothes and random stuff were donated to Goodwill in Waipahu.  But we’re not done with the fundraising and team bonding events.
